How Far Will You Go to Fight Cancer??

That was the question posed by the Livestrong foundation for this years Tourde BBQ to fight cancer. I was asked by good Jason Atherton to donate my time and skills to help promote this cause through our photography skills....and eat some great KC BBQ from 7 different locations in one day. BBQ and Photos....I was all over one of them....!

Better Than Money ??

I say that to only express the feeling I get when I present a client with their photos and they look at me like I’m a magician. After a few moments of looking with approval, the standard next question is ….”How did you do that?’
The feeling that comes over me is better than money…..which is fine because I have already been paid for the work! That is why I donate my time to the Alzheimer’s Association; I was asked a few years back if I would shoot the Blondes vs. Brunettes for Alzheimer’s awareness and gladly accepted. Although I felt I did a great job capturing the game one of those moments came when I photographed a family in the stands. About 2 weeks later I was rushed by this woman saying there he is and she gave me a huge hug and told that she could not thank me enough for the photo. She explained her grandfather had Alzheimer’s and that he normally didn’t remember a lot of things but had seen that photo on the ALZ website and told I remember that game……………………….that was a better than money feeling!

Cold did not Stop the Show !

An unseasonably cold May day did not slow these young athletes from showing the skills they had in the district champioships this past weekend.

Faces of Track

As the spring showers are rumbling around, every now and then I can sneak out to get some work done. This past week I went to the Winnetonka Invitationals to capture some moments. When I was looking at the photos I noticed the facial expressions of the athletes a little more than normal so I have posted some of those images.

Senior Time

I really enjoy shooting senior photos especially when the subject has personality and this last shoot was one of my favorites. My favorite aunt asked me to come to Shreveport, LA. to shoot her daughters seniors photos. I said OK as long I got some good home cooking and some great cajun food....I got feed she got photos!

Welcome 2011

2011 has started off with a bang, after recovering from the madness of the holidays I started the season shooting basketball games and the Area cross Series at Kemper arena. The space was really tight and I wasn’t allowed to go into areas that would give me some very cool shots. But after watching a couple of face plants I decided it was a good idea to NOT shoot from those locations! I did however create some very cool photos…..
